Strengthening Education
There’s nothing more important than ensuring a quality education for our children. They will build the future of South Dakota and America.
My dad was a Holocaust survivor who came to America with limited education. My parent’s dream of providing me a better life began with an emphasis on education. That led to my educational advocacy as an adult and my years of serving as a Watertown School Board Member.
Since first elected to the South Dakota House, I have served on the House Education Committee, providing oversight of K12 and postsecondary education in South Dakota.
I believe parents should be the primary decision makers about their children's education whether it's public education, homeschooling, or private education.
My priorities for education includes:
(1) ensuring our schools are among the safest in the nation,
(2) ensuring all children have equal opportunity to receive a world class education,
(3) providing a workforce of great educators, and
(4) providing a reasonable tax structure that supports these goals.
